In most cases, youth who need substance use treatment services can immediately access programs in Brockton and Worcester, thanks to available treatment beds and recent changes in insurance requirements.
These programs – Motivating Youth Recovery (MYR) and The CASTLE – are able to offer treatment, usually without being placed on a wait list. And, as of October 1 of this year, many insurers no longer require pre-authorization to access these substance use treatment services. Now, youth and their families can call these programs directly and often get a treatment bed immediately.
MYR and CASTLE offer seamless services for youth requiring detox or stabilization (inpatient) services. In addition to addressing alcohol, opioid, and other drug use, these programs offer treatment for chronic marijuana use — the most commonly abused substance among youth in the Massachusetts treatment system. MYR and CASTLE can also address co-occurring mental health needs among youth.
Do you know or work with a young person who is struggling with substance use or addiction? According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, as many as 25,000 youth in Massachusetts need treatment for a substance use disorder.
