Brockton Area’s 2022 Overdose Vigil by Candlelight

August 30, 2022 . 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In 2021, there were 2,234 confirmed opioid related overdose deaths in Massachusetts. The
loss of these individuals is immeasurable to their loved ones and our communities.
Please come honor the individuals we have lost at Brockton Area’s 2022 Overdose Vigil by
Candlelight on Tuesday, August 30th at Massasoit Community College – in the quad.
Resources will be available starting at 6PM and the ceremony will begin at 7PM.
In the event of inclement weather, the Vigil will be held the following day, Wednesday,
August 31st. Same time – same place. If the rain date is utilized, there will be a public
announcement made by 12PM on August 30th on our Facebook page
@BrocktonAreaPreventionCollaborative

Throughout the ceremony there will be speakers, musical performances and it will be
concluded with a memorial slideshow.

To those that are grieving, come find a safe space to remember your loved ones. To those
that are in recovery, come share your strength and hope for your community. To those that
are still struggling, come be with others who are there to stand in solidarity with you so that
you may know that you are not alone. And to the rest of the community, please come
together to honor those that we have lost and their loved ones.

This event is hosted by: the Brockton Area Prevention Collaborative, the Brockton Mayor’s
Opioid Overdose Prevention Coalition, Bridging LIVES, EB Hope, Rockland CARES &
Whitman Hanson WILL.
