Containing Addiction: Painting, rapping and writing toward recovery

October 13, 2017 . 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

We are all touched in some way by the opioid epidemic as family members, friends, co-workers, neighbors, community members.

Join us in this immersive art exercise to create a community portrait of addiction and recovery in Boston. Add your own expression of trauma, loss, resiliency and hopefulness to our community canvas. Paint, write, or add a keepsake in remembrance of your loved one or your own experience. You can also record a story or memory.

At 6pm, join Health Story Collaborative Founder and Massachusetts General Hospital internist Annie Brewster, MD, and rap artist, poet Matt Ganem for a conversation and performance on addiction and recovery.

If you’d like to participate, please register at [email protected]

Art supplies will be provided. Mementos will not be returned.

Presented by the Mass General Hospital Center for Community Health Improvement; Charlestown Coalition; the Artists Group of Charlestown; Health Story Collaborative; and the Opioid Project.
