May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental Health Awareness Month is a time to emphasize the importance of mental wellbeing, provide education, reduce stigma, and promote support and resources for those impacted by mental health conditions. Every year, communities and organizations work together to bring attention to mental health and ask for better care and support.
Mental health awareness plays a crucial role in reducing stigma, encouraging early intervention and fostering understanding. Mental health conditions are closely linked to substance use disorders, as they often occur together. When we talk openly about mental health and substance use, we create a more compassionate community where people feel empowered to get help when they need it. This May, let’s focus on increasing understanding of mental health and its impact on overall wellbeing by offering support and spreading information throughout our communities.
